The family of a woman killed in a boat crash on the Fox River last month plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit Thursday, with lawyers calling the incident that left 48-year-old Magdalena Jablonska dead a "horrific, tragic, avoidable accident."
Jablonska's fiancé was also injured in the crash, which occurred the afternoon of July 25 along the Fox River south of the McHenry Dam in McHenry.

Multiple witnesses said they saw Stevenson drinking alcohol throughout the day while driving at high rates of speed on both the Chain O' Lakes and the Fox River before the crash.
During a detention hearing last month, McHenry County States Attorney Deputy Chief Brian Miller described Stevenson as a "ticking time-bomb."
