TRAVERSE CITY [mdash] Sharon A. Whiteford, 75 of Traverse City passed away on September 8, 2025, at home, with loved ones by her side. Sharon was born on January 15, 1950, in Traverse City to the late A. Charles & Johanna (Perry) Whiteford. She graduated from Traverse City High School in 1968. Sharon worked at Big Boy, Mabel's and Meijer until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She liked to entertain, make family dinners, and play euchre. She didn't have children of her own, but she was a caring, loving aunt. She is survived by her siblings; Chuck Whiteford, Carol Whiteford, Pat Schwind and Lisa (Whiteford) & Tim Sadler. Also surviving are nieces; Jenny (John) and Mike Besko, Becky Whiteford, Alex Whiteford, Cassi & Emma Clinton, Sheila (Jeff) Zenner, Ashley, Kayley (Cody) DeWitt, Nate & Jake Zenner, Melissa (Dave) Wittbecker, Lily, Luke and Laura. Great nieces & nephews; Colton & Sky Whiteford and Connor & Cora DeWitt and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Denise Whiteford, a nephew Adam Whiteford, and brother-in-law Bill Schwind. Special thanks to cousin, Jean Edwards for her friendship and loving care to Sharon. Per her request there will be no funeral, there will be a graveside service at Acme Township Cemetery for family at another date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
