Four specialist mental health emergency departments and 10 community mental health centres are planned for the East Midlands during the first two years of a national NHS programme.
The emergency departments are planned for Chesterfield, elsewhere in Derbyshire, Nottingham and Leicester, subject to the necessary approvals.
The East Midlands schemes form part of plans for 100 community mental health centres and 59 mental health emergency departments across England.
The Government has allocated £156 million to NHS trusts for the first 59 mental health emergency departments and £187 million for the initial 100 community centres.
There are currently six community-based mental health centres and 23 mental health emergency departments in England.
