East Midlands Railway passengers are being advised to travel only if essential during strike action on Saturday 8 August and Saturday 15 August. Members of the RMT union are due to strike on both days, with EMR operating a significantly reduced timetable on its Intercity and Connect routes. EMR plans to run one train per hour between Nottingham and London St Pancras, one per hour between Sheffield and London St Pancras and one per hour between Corby and London St Pancras. Regional services are not affected by the strike action and are expected to operate normally. First Class accommodation on Intercity trains will be temporarily declassified while the strike timetable is operating, allowing all passengers to use the available seats.
