The Southwest Michigan business leader who quietly quarterbacked the campaign for passage of the Regional Airport millage is thanking those who worked alongside him to get the measure passed. Havlicek marshalled several diverse organizations to mount a short but effective campaign that delivered the passage of the millage vote on Tuesday, assuring basic funding for the airport. A previous generation of voters made the investment that gave us this advantage. Havlicek explained that standing up for Southwest Michigan is the work that members invest in the Chamber to do. This week voters in Benton Township, St. Joseph, St. Joseph Township, Lincoln Township, and Royalton Township answered—passing the renewal by healthy margins in every community.
