George Eduard Stae told a misconduct hearing he was a ‘keyboard warrior’ and would ‘lash out’ online because of his ‘personal situation’. The panel found Mr Stae’s Facebook comment was ‘prejudicial and discriminatory’ towards people based on their sexuality and/or gender identity, and ruled the registered nurse had committed misconduct. Mr Stae told the panel he realised his comment was ‘completely wrong and inappropriate’. While Samprada Mukhia, for the NMC, argued Mr Stae should be suspended for six months, the panel said a suspension order would be ‘wholly disproportionate’.
