Jess Barclay Lawton’s documentary short When the Ground Paused has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) where it will make its international premiere.
It is the only Australian short selected for TIFF’s Short Cuts this year, which includes 45 short films from 30 countries.
When the Ground Paused follows a young mother in the aftermath of early motherhood, as she slips between roles girl, mother, daughter — each one feeling a little out of reach.
The short will make its world premiere at the Melbourne International Film Festival this Saturday in the Documentary Shorts 2 program, before heading to Toronto in September.
Toronto International Film Festival runs September 10-20.
