Thursday 6 August 2026, and here we are again with another instalment of Cardle of the Day, the series where we work through each morning’s puzzle at cardle.uk and then spend a little time with whatever car the game decides to throw at us.
If you haven’t played Cardle before, the premise is simple: one car, five photo clues, each one a little less cropped than the last.
It was the Vauxhall Astra VXR.
The suspension was stiffened considerably over the standard Astra, and Brembo brakes were fitted as standard, a detail that gave it genuine credibility on a track day rather than just a fast road.
A worthy Cardle puzzle, for sure!
