On August 5, 2015 Shreveport police officer Thomas LaValley was gunned down while answering a domestic violence call in the 3500 block of Del Rio Street in the Queensborough neighborhood. The gunman opened fire on Officer LaValley hitting him several times. In just four years of service, Officer LaValley made a lasting impact on his fellow officers, this department, and the community he courageously served. We hope you will take a moment today to remember Officer LaValley for his bravery, his selflessness, and his willingness to place himself in harm’s way to protect others. His fellow officers say Thomas LaValley is "Forever our brother.
