Maryland voters this November will decide a ballot question whether to amend the state constitution to clarify the state’s redistricting process.
Wes Moore on Wednesday signed HB 2100, which the Maryland House and Senate passed during their special session on redistricting.
By passing this constitutional amendment, the General Assembly has ensured that Maryland remains committed to being part of that conversation—and that the final decision will rest where it belongs: with the people of Maryland.
I look forward to working together to pass the amendment with a strong YES vote in November.”
The amendment to Maryland’s constitution, if voters choose to ratify it, will clarify that certain redistricting standards apply only to the election of members of Maryland’s Senate and House of Delegates, not to the election of the state’s members of Congress.
