According to a recent report, our Pine Tree State ranks among the most expensive states for childbirth. Costing an estimated $24,363, Maine’s total was $9,567 less than Alaska, the most expensive state, and $9,738 more than Mississippi, the least expensive, according to an analysis by personal finance company Vettory.
