Journalists have been refused details of allegations relating to a chief constable who quit the police. Chris Noble resigned from his role with Staffordshire Police on the eve of a misconduct hearing that would have led to his dismissal. Noble, pictured, previously worked for the Police Service of Northern Ireland and Humberside Police. Sam McBride, the Bel Tel’s Northern Ireland editor, wrote on X: “Ex-PSNI officer Chris Noble guilty of gross misconduct for appalling behaviour we’re banned from reporting. Noble served in Northern Ireland for 21 years in a variety of roles, including head of professional standards and counter corruption.
