JOHN DAY — The 117th iteration of the Grant County Fair promises food, fun, rides and perhaps the most relevant concert headliner yet. Its theme is “Small Town, Big Heart.” Admission is free on Wednesday, Aug. 12, and free for first responders and veterans on Aug. 13 as part of Thankful Thursday. Also on tap are the famous Hamsher Fighting Bulls at the Iron Triangle Arena on Aug. 15. “If you buy your Hamsher Fighting Bull tickets ahead of time, you get in free too.”
