T&T had two of its four sprinters advance to the next round of the 100 metres event Wednesday, the opening day of the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon, USA. ​Alexxe Henry and Imani Mills progressed to the semifinals in the women’s event, while neither men’s sprinter—Trevaughn Stewart and Alex Seepersad—advanced from round one. ​Henry was an automatic qualifier in heat seven of eight in the women’s dash, finishing in second place in a time of 11.55 seconds. Running out of lane seven, he placed fifth in 10.51 and was 31st overall. ​Mills was scheduled to line up in lane one of semifinal heat one, while Henry was to race in heat two, lane three.
