A man who led authorities to believe there may be a bomb at the Lewiston Police Department has pleaded guilty to a felony. Joseph D. Dean, 24, admitted to making a false report of explosives in a case filed at Nez Perce County Second District Court. The Lewiston man will be sentenced in October. In April, officers performed a welfare check after receiving a call of concern for Dean. Court documents say Dean instead told officers he tried reporting the local police department for “lots of crime being swept under the rug over the years.”
