Triumph confirms new, larger and more powerful Moto2 engine for 2027

On the eve of the British MotoGP at Silverstone, Triumph has officially confirmed that Moto2 will be powered by an all-new engine from the 2027 season.
New Triumph Moto2 engine detailsThe 2027 Triumph Moto2 engine | Image: TriumphSpeaking at Triumph's Factory Visitor Experience in Hinckley, the firm confirmed the new Moto2 engine has been developed with an increase in capacity over the current 765cc triple, although its exact displacement has yet to be announced.
Rather than simply enlarging the existing engine, Triumph says the new package features redesigned crankcases and a new cylinder head, together with a higher compression ratio, revised intake and exhaust systems, and improvements to internal airflow.

Those changes mean every Moto2 chassis manufacturer will have to develop an all-new frame for 2027, with the lighter engine and revised centre of gravity requiring fresh chassis geometry to unlock the bike's full potential.
