Victorian Premier Ben Carroll has promised to boost the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission’s powers following the release of its report into enterprise bargaining between the government and the United Firefighters Union. The report arising from Operation Richmond concerned allegations IBAC received about the conduct of UFU secretary Peter Marshall during negotiations for an enterprise bargaining agreement with the state government. It was alleged that Marshall had engaged in blackmail or had sought to compromise then-premier Daniel Andrews to change his views on the contents of the enterprise bargaining agreement.
