The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has this week launched an education initiative designed to make sure that small business owners minimise the likelihood of becoming people of interest to the regulator.
ASIC commissioner Kate O’Rourke said the regulator was delivering on its small business strategy by providing guidance in various formats to help small business owners comply with ASIC’s complex rules.
O’Rourke and her ASIC colleagues hope the new resources will keep directors focused on compliance and may help ensure they are less likely to come to the regulator’s attention.
