The federal government has announced that Tony Chappel will succeed David Parker as CEO of the Clean Energy Regulator. Chappel, a senior NSW public servant, brings extensive experience to the role as a leader of regulatory and market bodies across sectors including energy, climate, and the environment. Announcing the appointment on Thursday, Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen said Chappel’s tenure as chair and CEO of the regulator began at a time when the CER’s work was central to national energy transformation and progress towards net zero.
