A New York City woman says her first Hinge date turned into one of the worst dates of her life, from a silent outfit judgment at the door to a comment about calories at the dinner table. At dinner, Lee said the waitress recommended several dishes, but the man ordered items she had not suggested and did not ask Lee what she wanted. Lee said the man also asked to check his phone when they sat down, then spent close to seven minutes on it without explanation. This is not the first time a Hinge date has gone poorly, as one woman said her date’s mother called her a bad choice for a self-respecting man. He then brought up the calorie count of the meal, saying, “oh, like this is probably 3,000 calories.”
