Join the Carson City Historical Society on Saturday for our much-beloved annual Ice Cream Social, where towering shade trees, cold, delicious ice cream, the lively sounds of the Carson Street Ragtime Band, tours of the beautiful Foreman-Roberts House Museum, and good company come together for one of Carson City’s favorite summer traditions. This year’s celebration will be even more special as we announce and celebrate the winners of our America250 Essay Contest, “What America Means to Carson City.” Beginning at 2:30 p.m., these talented young writers will read their award-winning essays. Where else can you spend a summer afternoon listening to ragtime, strolling through a beautifully restored Victorian home, celebrating the voices of Carson City’s young writers, and enjoying a generous bowl of ice cream — all in one place? Come for the ice cream…stay for the memories.
