Image Credit: UKMTOA tanker reported hearing two explosions while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday night, according to a British government agency monitoring maritime security in the region. “The Master reported hearing two explosions whilst transiting the Straits of Hormuz,” UKMTO said in its post. The incident comes as Iran and Oman are reported to be moving closer to an understanding on how to manage shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. According to data from maritime intelligence firm Windward, around 18 vessels transited the Hormuz Strait on Wednesday, including 11 outbound and seven inbound transits.
