The Obaasima Foundation has launched its 2026 programme with a renewed call for increased investment in women’s leadership and greater participation of women in decision-making at all levels. Ms Asamoah said the foundation had successfully organised six editions of the Obaasima Summit, despite disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. According to her, the foundation’s campus tours had inspired many young women in tertiary institutions to take up leadership roles, with several participants going on to become Student Representative Council presidents and other student leaders. She added that the Obaasima Academy had been established to connect young women with experienced mentors who provided guidance and support while preparing them for leadership and career opportunities. Looking ahead, Ms Asamoah called on development partners, corporate organisations, policymakers, mentors and sponsors to support the foundation’s work.
