The S&P/NZX 50 Index fell 0.28% or 39.12 points to close at 13,958.06. On Wednesday, the Nasdaq Composite lost 0.8%, the S&P 500 fell 0.2% while the Dow Jones managed to add 0.5%. In corporate news, New Zealand King Salmon Investments (ASX:NZK, NZE:NZK) upgraded its fiscal 2026 earnings guidance, increasing its pro forma earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization forecast to NZ$30 million to NZ$34 million from NZ$23 million to NZ$29 million. Promisia Healthcare (NZE:PHL) agreed to conditionally acquire the two companies that own and operate Christchurch's Chatswood Retirement Village in a NZ$25 million deal, subject to shareholder, regulatory and New Zealand Exchange approvals.
