The Israeli military has announced that two of its soldiers have been killed in combat in southern Lebanon, after it launched retaliatory strikes that killed at least one person. Later in the day, the military said it had begun conducting strikes in Lebanon in response to what it called a "blatant violation" of the ceasefire by Hezbollah. The Lebanese health ministry said one man was killed and 12 other people were injured in an Israeli strike in the southern town of Tibnin. Strikes were also reported in several towns to the west including Mansouri, where the Israeli military issued its first evacuation order for more than a month. In late June, the three countries agreed a trilateral framework that should see the Israeli military gradually withdraw from territory it is occupying in southern Lebanon in exchange for the disarmament of Hezbollah.
