The original case stemmed from a serious clinical incident in 2009 while he was working at South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust. At the latest hearing, Dr Srikanth told the tribunal he had worked in Saudi Arabia since 2017 and hoped to return to the NHS with his family if restored to the register. The tribunal acknowledged that Dr Srikanth had maintained his medical knowledge and skills, noting his work in Saudi Arabia, positive testimonials and professional development activities. It concluded that while almost 11 years had passed since his erasure, his insight "has not yet fully developed". Refusing the application, the tribunal ruled that Dr Srikanth's name should not be restored to the medical register and that he cannot make another restoration application for 12 months.
