Arron Melia-Eccles, 35, appeared at Burnley Crown Court on Tuesday (August 4) charged with one count of being an owner or person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury. Police and the air ambulance were called to Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle, on May 26 last year following reports that a four-year-old boy had been bitten by a dog. The child was treated for injuries to his leg and face. Melia-Eccles, of Thwaites Road, Oswaldtwistle, entered a not guilty plea to the charge and will face a trial on November 8, 2027, expected to last four days. At the time of the incident, a police spokesperson said a Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dog and a Pocket Bully type dog had been seized.
