The incident happened in Whalley Banks on Saturday, August 1, as the ambulance was turning into the main road from Pump Street. The ambulance, which did not appear to have its blue lights or sirens on, hit a car, causing it to crash into a parked car, as it pulled out of the side street. It's unclear what caused the ambulance driver to perform the manoeuvre; with possible options being parked vehicles obstructing the driver's view, or the driver simply not seeing the oncoming vehicle for some reason. The parked car, which had its boot open, was located in a designated unloading spot in front of the Sadaat Carpets store. Only seconds earlier, a man can be seen unloading from the car in Whalley Banks before the ambulance pulls out onto the main road, sending the passing car hurtling into the parked vehicle.
