Islamabad will get a China-modelled Law Enforcement Investigation Centre, with a pilot project set to launch soon, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Thursday. The officers briefed him on modern policing methods, surveillance systems, and equipment used in both countries, along with approaches to law and order management observed during their training. Under the planned centre, detention, investigation, and summary trials will be conducted under one roof, enabling faster resolution of minor crime cases. Naqvi said the initiative reflects a broader push to strengthen the police system by adopting successful international policing models. The minister also announced plans to make foreign training a permanent component of professional development for police officers.
