Water safety demonstrations were carried out in Stratford on Saturday (1st August) by Warwickshire Fire and Rescue. They took place on the River Avon by the Rec, part of a National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) water safety campaign. Photo: Mark WilliamsonThe event was also a chance for members of the public to learn more about water safety, drowning prevention and the importance of recognising the dangers posed by open water. There was also an opportunity to practise using throwlines – lifesaving equipment which is increasingly being installed at known water safety blackspots.
