Speaking at his Wamunyoro residence during a meeting with leaders from Murang’a County, the former Deputy President stated that officers stationed at the Kikuyu station leaked details of the alleged plot to him. Gachagua further accused Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin of protecting the implicated officers and blocking internal investigations despite repeated complaints. Those two police officers are from the same tribe as Ruto and Murkomen,” Gachagua claimed, directly linking the officers to unresolved murders in Nairobi. “The day we were attacked with Kalonzo and Matiang’i, these two police officers from Kikuyu Police Station were the ones paid to kill me, Matiang’i and Kalonzo.
