Utica, NY - Evelyn Carol Van Allen, 84, formerly of Hinckley and Middleville, passed away on July 31, 2026, at the Masonic Care Community, Utica, where she resided the past year. Mrs. Van Allen was born on July 18, 1942, in Lockport, a daughter of the late James and Evelyn (Kopan) Staats. She worked for over 30 years for the Lockport School District as a Senior Typist and School Secretary. On January 18, 1998, Carol was united in marriage with Gary Van Allen in Lockport. Survivors, besides her husband Gary, include a daughter, Jill (Steve) O'Leary of Ft. Wayne, IN; a son, J. Michael Rowley of Lockport; a stepdaughter, Sherry (Larry) Jasinski of Niagara Falls; two stepsons, Michael (Michelle) Van Allen of Tonawanda and James (Donnette) Van Allen of Parkersburg, WV; and 11 grandchildren.
