Florida Sen. Rick Scott Demands Extended Senate Workweek To Pass ‘To-Do List’ Before Recess

U.S. Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) called on his colleagues in the Senate to remain in Washington and extend their working hours to resolve core legislative priorities before leaving for the upcoming recess.
Scott criticized the standard congressional schedule, noting that lawmakers often only spend two and a half days working in Washington each week.
“As my mom said, I couldn’t go out and play until I got all my work done,” Scott said during the interview.

“There is so much fraud in the system,” Scott said, pointing to overall healthcare costs and national debt levels approaching $40 trillion.
