When local businesses rally behind people in our community, they use their platform to help others who are in need. Recently, BC Burger at 1876 W Michigan Ave. in Battle Creek took to Facebook to urge the community to come together on Friday, October 3rd at Noon, to help them out in their store for a young man going through intense Chemotherapy. Tests revealed a tumor on the left side of his stomach, and he was immediately transferred to U of M Mott Children’s Hospital. Maverick has already started chemotherapy yesterday 9/19/25. The owner of BC Burger is doing everything he can to assist in any way the community can muster:I’ve done a lot of fundraisers and helped a lot of people, but none more important than this one.
