OpenEMR has set a new benchmark for Indian medical documentation, achieving a leading 73.81% compatibility with national clinical standards-far surpassing the 51.96% average across other platforms, as a recent study published online in arXiv in 2023 has shown. Key Clinical Findings of the Study Include:• Superior Compatibility Alignment: OpenEMR matched 31 of 42 mandatory clinical elements to achieve a leading 73.81% closeness score, according to the investigation. • Significant Metadata Deficit: OpenClinic demonstrated the weakest correlation with the benchmark data set by covering only 33.33% of the required metadata elements, as per the investigation. The results suggest that while OpenEMR is the most compatible tool for Indian practitioners, the national standard requires an expansion to incorporate the 47 supplementary clinical elements identified during the gap analysis. Thus, the study concludes that the healthcare providers may choose digital platforms that maximize metadata alignment to ensure better semantic interoperability and higher quality integrated care across diverse clinical settings.
