Chennai:Positioning Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the cornerstone of its economic and governance agenda, the Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday unveiled an ambitious roadmap in the 2026-27 revised budget to build an end-to-end AI ecosystem, spanning education, workforce development, research, industry and public administration. The budget also announced a major expansion of the Tamil Nadu School Programme for Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Knowledge of Online Tools (TN Spark). Beyond education and research, the government announced that the Tamil Nadu Artificial Intelligence Mission (TN AI Mission) would be expanded to promote the responsible adoption of AI across governance and emerging technologies. “Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic concept but a driving force improving the every day lives of our citizens. To make administration faster, more transparent, more inclusive and more accessible, this government is committed to using Artificial Intelligence responsibly,” the minister said.
