The series adapts Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel of the same name, with Apple releasing new episodes weekly following a two-episode premiere on July 15. Coming out of the previous episode, Lucky had reunited with her husband Cary at a beach house, where he admitted to stealing the casino money and abandoning her before the pair attempted one last escape together. Episode 5 picks up the emotional wreckage of that loss, following Lucky as she processes grief while federal Agent Billie Rand tightens her net. That description lands with particular force in an episode built almost entirely around Lucky’s unraveling composure. Apple has confirmed that ‘Lucky’ continues its weekly rollout with Episode 6, “Wherever You Go, There You Are,” arriving next Wednesday.
