Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan and OSCE Chairman-in-Office discuss development of cooperationAKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland and Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Ignazio Cassis on August 5, the Foreign Ministry reported. The parties discussed current issues related to the OSCE, the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Organization, and the strengthening of interaction between Turkmenistan and Switzerland. The parties emphasized the importance of continuing the practice of holding high-level regional events in Ashgabat with the participation of OSCE leadership and positively assessed the results of previous joint events. Special attention was paid to prospects for further developing cooperation with the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat. At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side confirmed its readiness for further close and constructive cooperation with the Swiss OSCE Chairmanship, the Organization's Secretariat, its institutions, and the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat.
