The Accident and Emergency Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is recording a sharp rise in daily patient attendance, with cases increasing from about 50 and 70 to more than 100.
Dr Bulley also expressed concern about the steady rise in road traffic accident cases recorded at the hospital.
Road traffic accident cases accounted for 553 of this year’s attendances, representing 7.11 per cent of all emergency cases.
This compared with 379 cases (5.33 per cent) in 2025, 368 cases (4.65 per cent) in 2024 and 384 cases (5.22 per cent) in 2023.
Dr Bulley identified festive periods, long public holidays and school vacations as peak periods for emergency cases.
