"In other words the Botley Road will be a single carriageway at Osney Bridge even after the road under the railway has been opened. Thames Water said from now until October the temporary pipe bridge will be decommissioned and removed, along with the traffic management. Former Liberal Democrat county councillor John Howson called for the Osney Bridge works to be finished in time for the reopening of Botley Road. He added: "Thames Water promised residents that the roadworks (at the bridge) would be finished by August 31.
