MITCHELL – Mitchell city officials got their first look at bids for a proposed new fire station in Mitchell on Monday, setting the stage for continued discussion on what has been called one of the most important infrastructure projects in recent city history. The bids, opened at Mitchell City Hall, ranged from base bids of approximately $2.8 million to $3.8 million. With alternative add-ons included, numbers ranged from $2.9 million to $3.9 million. We were originally hoping for bids around $2.5 million,” Jordan Hanson, mayor of Mitchell, told the Mitchell Republic after opening.
