The Ummah Zakat Foundation is to inaugurate its Board of Trustees (BOT), and unveil its EasyZakat digital platform on Thursday, a statement by the group has disclosed. The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that the foundation was established as a faith-inspired, non-profit platform. It seeks to strengthen the administration of Zakat through transparency, accountability, Sharia (Islamic law) compliance and the responsible use of technology. The platform connects givers, beneficiaries, administrators and relevant institutions through a secure digital interface. The platform would provides digital records, beneficiary validation, auditable transaction trails, and real-time tracking of contributions from the giver to the intended beneficiary.
