The Eagle Mill Redevelopment Project transformed an 1808 former paper mill, the Eagle Mill building, into 56 affordable-housing units abutting the Housatonic River. Eagle Mill Phase 2, incorporating another 44 units of affordable housing next door, is underway and slated for a 2027 groundbreaking. Five ADA-accessible housing units are also included in the development. Real estate developer Jeff Cohen, principal of the Eagle Mill Redevelopment group, praised the Hearthway/Rees-Larkin team, calling the Eagle Mill units “unbelievable.” Lee Town Administrator Christopher Brittain presented the mill’s history, with its roots dating back to the early 19th century.
