FOOD & DRINKTesco names Andrew Yaxley as CEO of Ireland and Northern IrelandTesco has appointed Andrew Yaxley as chief executive of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Yaxley previously served as Tesco’s chief executive of Ireland from 2015 to 2018, where he led the business through a period of growth and transformation. He succeeds Geoff Byrne, who will now become chief executive of Booker. Byrne has worked at Tesco since 2008 and became chief executive of Tesco Ireland and Northern Ireland in May 2025. Both appointments will take effect from 31 August, with Yaxley and Byrne continuing to serve on the Tesco Group Executive Committee.
