Cost of filling up a tank of diesel reaches £100

The cost of filling a typical 55-litre family diesel car has hit the £100 mark once again following a relentless surge in fuel prices sparked by the conflict in the Middle East.
Diesel has spiked even higher, soaring nearly 17p (10%) from its 9 July conflict low to hit 181.5p per litre.
The surge in prices means a full tank of diesel now costs £100 – a threshold last faced by drivers in early June.
Williams commented: “Daily price rises should come to a halt and reductions should start to appear, providing the cost of a barrel stays around this level.”
