HODEIDAH — 2 civilians were killed and 5 others from the same family, including 3 children, were injured on Monday after a disguised explosive device left behind by Houthi forces detonated in Al-Hafi neighborhood of Al-Zaidiyah city, north of Hodeidah province. He explained that the explosive was among military remnants left by the militia, intended to be later transferred to frontlines along the western coast. According to Al-Qub, 13-year-old Omar discovered the device and carried it home, attempting to dismantle its wires before it suddenly exploded. The explosion also left Omar critically wounded with both legs amputated, while his siblings and relatives Yarshin (10), Ali (24), Mohammed (22), and Ham (16) sustained varying injuries and shrapnel wounds. This tragedy adds to the growing toll of civilian casualties caused by landmines and improvised explosive devices planted or abandoned by Houthi forces across Hodeidah.
