Aden — The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has called on international donors to urgently provide humanitarian funding to sustain its life-saving support for women and girls in Yemen throughout 2026. In a newly released report, UNFPA said it requires $38 million this year to deliver critical interventions and services to millions of women and girls across the country. According to the latest UN estimates, 5.5 million women of reproductive age are in need of humanitarian assistance, including more than 765,000 pregnant women. In addition, around 6.2 million women and girls are at risk of gender-based violence this year. UNFPA emphasized that without urgent donor support, millions of women and girls could be left without access to essential reproductive health services and protection programs, further deepening Yemen’s humanitarian crisis.
