Ltd. (SV AGRI) has introduced its Starch Recovery Unit (SRU), a solution designed to recover valuable potato starch from wash water generated during potato processing operations while reducing water consumption and wastewater treatment requirements. The SRU is designed for potato chips, French fries, and other potato processing facilities, enabling manufacturers to recover high-value potato starch that would otherwise be lost during processing. The recovered water can be reused within the plant, helping reduce fresh water consumption by 30% to 40% in potato chips manufacturing. The recovered starch can also be utilized as a valuable by-product, supporting more sustainable and cost-effective potato processing operations. The company says the Starch Recovery Unit offers potato processors an efficient approach to resource recovery, water conservation, and improved production sustainability while generating additional value through potato starch recovery.
