SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – After months of discussion during closed-session City Council meetings, a decision has been made to fill the city manager position vacant since the departure of Joe Irwin in February.
During its regular meeting on August 11, 2026, the South Lake Tahoe City Council will consider approval of an employment agreement with Hilary Roverud for appointment as the City’s next city manager.
Roverud brings more than twenty-five years of public sector planning, development, and leadership experience, including 21 years with the City of South Lake Tahoe.
Throughout her career, she has held progressively responsible positions within the organization, including planning manager, deputy director of development services, director of Development Services, and Assistant City Manager.
The City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
