TCL has introduced an updated version of its affordable Tab A1 Plus tablet, adding its proprietary NXTPAPER display technology and a larger battery while retaining much of the hardware found in the original model. The biggest visual change is the inclusion of TCL’s NXTPAPER technology, which is designed to provide a more paper-like viewing experience and reduce eye strain during extended use. Users can switch between standard colour mode, colour ink mode and greyscale ink mode using a dedicated hardware button, allowing the display to adapt to different tasks such as reading, browsing or watching videos. The launch forms part of TCL’s broader strategy to expand its NXTPAPER technology across more affordable devices. The company already offers the budget-friendly Tab 8 NXTPAPER 5G, which remains its lowest-priced tablet featuring the paper-like display technology.
